  • Zambézia prepares cashew nut marketing campaign with a target of 19,000 tons.

    The IAM Delegation in Zambézia held a harmonization meeting on the cashew nut marketing monitoring system, as part of the preparation for the 2025/2026 campaign. The province aims to market 19,000 tons, after having broken records in the last campaign. The meeting took place on November 17th at the UniLicungo Auditorium in Quelimane and was chaired by Chamusso dos Santos, Director of Provincial Economic Activities Services. The meeting brought together officials from various institutions, including the Provincial Directorate of Industry and Commerce, INAE, the Zambézia Tax Authority, and technicians from IAM, IP. During the workshops, topics such as the marketing monitoring system, regulations on the promotion, production and export of cashew nuts, licensing standards for commercial activity, procedures for the movement and transport of goods, and rules applicable to the collection of fines were addressed. At the opening of the event, the Director of Provincial Economic Activities Services highlighted the socio-economic importance of cashew nuts in the provincial economy. He emphasized that, in the last campaign, Zambézia achieved a record of commercialized production since national independence, with more than 22,000 tons, which allowed producers to earn more than 1.1 million meticais. He appealed to all participants to make the current campaign even better. Sifa Bernardo António, provincial delegate of IAM, IP, stated that the harmonization meeting achieved its objectives and that everything is prepared for a successful marketing campaign, in which the province intends to market 19,000 tons of cashew nuts.
