According to data from the Customs Department (Ministry of Finance), in June 2026, Vietnam exported 73.02 thousand tons of cashew nuts, worth US$517.7 million, a decrease of 1.5% in volume and 2.1% in value compared to May 2026, but an increase of 7.5% in volume and 11.7% in value compared to June 2025. In the first six months of 2026, Vietnam's cashew nut exports reached 341.4 thousand tons, worth US$2.4 billion, a decrease of 0.9% in volume but an increase of 2.0% in value compared to the same period in 2025. This result shows that the improving trend in average export prices has helped offset the slight decrease in export volume. The average export price of cashew nuts in June 2026 reached US$7,089.5/ton, a decrease of 0.6% compared to May 2026, but an increase of 3.9% compared to May 2025. In the first six months of 2026, the average export price of cashew nuts was US$7,014.8/ton, an increase of 3.0% compared to the same period in 2025. In the first half of 2026, Vietnam's cashew export market structure continued to focus on China and the United States, accounting for nearly 46% of the country's total export value. In addition, strong export growth to markets such as Canada, Thailand, Germany, and Spain contributed to market diversification, reducing dependence on traditional markets. Vietnam's cashew exports surged, bringing in $24 billion after six months. In the first six months of 2026, the average export price of cashew nuts was $7,014.8 per ton, an increase of 3.0% compared to the same period in 2025. In the first six months of 2026, China was Vietnam's largest cashew export market, reaching 81.15 thousand tons, valued at US$585.14 million, accounting for approximately 23.8% of the country's total exports in terms of volume and 24.4% in terms of value. Although the export volume to this market decreased by 2.2%, the value still increased by 11.5% compared to the same period in 2025. The United States was the second largest cashew export market in the first six months of 2026, reaching 75.7 thousand tons, valued at US$514.7 million, an increase of 8.0% in volume and 8.3% in value compared to the same period last year. In Europe, cashew exports to the Netherlands, a key transit hub for the EU, decreased by 9.6% in volume and 10.2% in value in the first six months of 2026 compared to the same period of the previous year. While exports to Germany increased by 21.3% in volume and 23.4% in value; exports to Spain increased by 23.1% in volume and 20.0% in value. This trend shows that demand in some direct consumer markets in the EU region remains positive. In the medium-sized market group, exports to Canada stood out with a 59.6% increase in volume and a 59.0% increase in value. Cashew exports to Thailand also recorded very positive growth, increasing by 60.1% in volume and 54.8% in value. Exports to Australia maintained stable growth with a 12.3% increase in volume and a 14.1% increase in value compared to the same period last year. Conversely, cashew exports to the UK decreased by 4.9% in volume and 5.0% in value. Additionally, cashew exports to Saudi Arabia fell by 14.2% in volume and 12.4% in value, indicating that tensions in the Middle East have somewhat impacted cashew exports to some markets in the region. Overall, in the first six months of 2026, Vietnam's cashew exports remained stable, with value increasing despite a slight decrease in export volume. However, the cashew industry still faces many challenges as high raw cashew prices increase raw material costs, causing profit margins for processing businesses to continue to narrow.
