  • Ivory Coast: Cashew OIA launches training for 1,000 young applicators of plant protection products

    The Interprofessional Cashew Organization (OIA Anacarde) launched, on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Yamoussoukro Hotel, a training program for 1,000 young applicators of plant protection products.The launch ceremony took place in the presence of several administrative authorities, including the regional prefect, prefect of the department of Yamoussoukro, Coulibaly Gando, as well as André Kouassi, director of Agricultural Professional Organizations (DOPA) of the ministry in charge of Agriculture.At the start of the ceremony, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cashew Interprofessional Organization (OIA), Soro Beh, presented the objectives of this program. He explained that this initiative is part of the implementation of the policy of the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, whom he praised for his commitment to the development of the agricultural sector and the integration of young people.Through this training, the OIA Anacarde intends to contribute to strengthening the skills of young people in the application of plant protection products, while promoting their integration into the agricultural sector.Speaking at the event, the regional prefect and prefect of the Yamoussoukro department, Coulibaly Gando, encouraged young people to seize this opportunity. According to the prefectural authority, this program represents a genuine opportunity for professional integration for its beneficiaries.The official opening speech, delivered by André Kouassi, Director of Agricultural Professional Organizations, marked the formal launch of the training program.With this initiative, the OIA Anacarde intends to strengthen the capacities of young people and meet the needs of the cashew sector in terms of specialized skills, while opening up new professional prospects for the beneficiaries.
