  • Training Programme on ‘Cashew Production and Processing Technologies’

    As part of the Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP/STC) scheme, ICAR-Directorate of Cashew Research, Puttur, in collaboration with the Tribal Welfare Department, Directorate of Tribal Welfare, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, organized a 3-day training programme on cashew production and processing technologies from March 18th to 20th, 2025, at CREED KVK, Ariyalur District, Tamil Nadu. The event commenced with Presidential Remarks by the District Adi Dravidar & Tribal Welfare Officer, who highlighted the significance of empowering tribal communities through improved agricultural practices. The Chief Guest, Dr J.D. Adiga, Director, ICAR-DCR, Puttur, emphasized adopting scientific cashew cultivation practices. The technical sessions featured a series of lectures covering key aspects such as crop management practices, crop protection, mechanization, raw cashew nut processing, and value addition. The participants were provided with hands-on training, which was witnessed by the District Collector, District Adi Dravidar & Tribal Welfare Officer, and Sub-Tahsildar.
