  • Start of the cashew campaign in Togo with a price of FCFA 325 per kilo 03/13/2023

    Mar 13th, 2023

The 2023 cashew marketing campaign was officially opened last Friday in Kara in northern Togo under the theme of “Sustainability of the cashew sector in Togo through increased nut and apple processing”. The farm gate floor price has been set at FCFA 325 per kilo, i.e. FCFA 15 less than in 2022 indicates AgriDigitale but it is higher than that of Burkina Faso (FCFA 300) and Côte d'Ivoire (FCFA 315). Togo is one of the smallest cashew producers in the West African region. With 33,000 tons produced in 2022, it is just behind Gambia (26,000 t), according to estimates by specialist n'kalô. However, this is 3,000 tons more than in 2021. Of these 33,000 tons of raw cashew nuts, 15% (5,000 tons) are processed into almonds.
