    The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is committed to supporting the Abidjan Initiative of COP15 on desertification, through a financial contribution of 20 million dollars, i.e. more than 12 billions of CFA francs. "The Abidjan Initiative or Abidjan Legacy Program is a program for sustainable development and transformation of the agri-food system in Côte d'Ivoire, so that it is more sustainable, so that it brings more creation of jobs, helping people to get out of poverty and giving more value to certain production sectors, in particular the cocoa sector, the cashew nut sector and other sectors,” said Maria Helena Semedo. In the amount of 1.5 billion dollars spread over a period of five years. It focuses in particular on the fight against deforestation and the restoration of forests, which aims to restore 20% of Ivorian forest cover by the end of the decade, and the improvement of agricultural productivity through mechanization and the restoration of floors.
