DCP production in recent years has witnessed drastic fall. This study was aimed at assessing various problems affecting the performance of the industry. The project involved primary survey of all the DCP making units in the country spread over the four southern states (AP, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala). DCP units were visited primarily to assess the satisfaction level of the units on availability of various inputs (including finance) and government assistance or role affecting the performance of the units. The study also evaluated the marketing problems associated with DCP manufacturing units. The detailed action plan to be implemented at government level for better performance of the industry was suggested.

Currently, we are working on a project initiated in September 2003, which involves collection of data in prescribed formats from tea manufacturers, exporters, and buyers spread across the length and breadth of the country and its compilation in the website of the Tea Board. The scope of the project includes collection of data, validation, entry of the data into database and generation of MIS reports for the Tea board.
